Get your computer set just the way you like. The wheel scroll uses an optical encoder with excellent durability without the wear of parts during operation. Push the ball out from behind with your finger or a pen. Remove dust from the areas where the three red support balls contact the trackball using a cotton swab. I usually use a Logitech unifying trackball, but took a chance on this after hearing people rave about it in forums. I love it, great to have Bluetooth built in to save those precious laptop USB slots. I have always loved the trackball mouse. That's why I was hoping for a trackball gaming mouse. It does everything I need it to do and it stops my constantly picking up the mouse and moving it, especially since I use two monitors.
Great buy!If they would just make this design a hair larger... just a hair. Improve the bearings and glide of the wheel. It would be the perfect Elecom EX-G PRO Review – Best gaming sensor trackball mouse for ages to come. I simply love it. Tried all the others and this is it for me. I upgraded the bearings and ball in mine and am a happy camper but would love to see this model improved on and perfected by just making it a little bit larger.
The ring finger button has so many uses for me. The 4d scroll wheel is great. The layout is great. The ball is a good angle and everything. Just needs to be a hair larger... really just the buttons need to be extended out further... especially the forward/back buttons cause his finger lays past them and has to curl to use them. Like the item, works fine. I don’t regret migrating from Apple Magic Mouse.
The only quibble is that the software assigning functions to buttons isn’t working perfectly - I configured buttons to go forward and backward in history on Safari, but I get nil response from those buttons. This mouse is not without its problems, but it's probably the best trackball you can buy today. It doesn't have a "proper" DPI selector like a RAZER mouse would have, despite claiming that it does, which means it's not the most accurate mouse you can get.
I've had RAZOR mice with far more precision and accuracy that cost less. The mouse wheel has been problematic since purchase. Not every roll of the wheel results in movement. The trackball becomes 'sticky' rather easily simply caused by dust and grime getting onto the trackball, but a quick clean every day takes care of that. The button placement takes some getting used to but ultimately is very convenient with most buttons able to be quickly pressed without too much hand movement.

I've had the mouse for 18 months and have primarily been using it for gaming. While it doesn't have the precision I have been used to I'd still say it's a vast improvement over a regular mouse. If you like trackballs then this is probably the best mouse you will find. Well built but still not for large hands, I'm keeping it as it will last longer than Logitech. I have had two of Logitech's failures now.
My hand keeps hitting the extra buttons I've had to turn them off. I also have an issue where the app is using 5-7% CPU 100% of the time. Love the ability to quickly switch ways of connecting, the microswitches are great and generally a well-built mouse. Much preferred this to the DEFT ball I also purchased. Elecom EX-G PRO Review – Best gaming sensor trackball mouse well made, comfortable, and has a good connection.
