I received Perixx PERIMICE-520 Wired USB Ergonomic Programmable Trackball Mouse and plugged it in and unplugged my old Logitech trackball. touching it the pointer FLEW across both monitors. I use a 32" and a 40" UHD TV/monitor. I tried to use the trackball and the pointer was racing all over the place. very difficult to control. I tried the DPI switch and it was no different.

Have no real idea what the DPI switch is supposed to do. I eventually was able to work it over to the Control panel and select the Mouse controller. I had to slide or move the pointer speed and tail to "dead slow". I also changed the wheel Horizontal and vertical page rates too. Once I got it set up it was awesome! Very quick response, smooth, and precise.

I can quickly place the pointer exactly where I want Perixx PERIMICE-520 Wired USB Ergonomic Programmable Trackball Mouse. I had terrible problems and issues in copy and pasting using the mouse and other related things. ALL of the problems I thought might be with the old mouse and computer. I found it to be with the old mouse. This mouse makes all of those tasks effortless. The things I was trying to do were becoming tedious and harder to do.

This mouse makes everything FUN again. Have not figured out the ergonomics things yet. Trying flat and then with the tilt supports. Using both is too much. The taller one is kind of awkward at times. With the smaller one, my wrist is straight and not bent. Comfort is great. My IT department warned me that my wireless mouse and keyboards were not compatible and that over time they would start acting up and that I needed to be wired mouse and keyboard.

First, it was my keyboard so I had to get a wired ergonomic keyboard. Then many months later my M570 wireless ergonomic mouse started acting up. I have a backup M570 I use for home so I switched it out thinking the mouse itself might be on its last days but nope. The brand new backup started acting up within minutes. So I knew IT was right and it was the wireless aspect and not the mice themselves.

Luckily today this wired ergonomic mouse arrived and it’s absolutely perfect. More comfortable than the M570 even.

Two things I noticed:

  1. The Perixx PERIMICE-520 Wired USB Ergonomic Programmable Trackball Mouse was moving too fast so I had to flip the mouse over and push the DPI button on the bottom to ‘L’ instead of ‘H’. That fixed that.

  2. The rollerball isn’t as smooth rolling as a cleaned M570. If you are super sensitive to tactile things like a kind of (barely noticeable) scratchy roller ball then you might not want this. I have really bad sensory issues and it doesn’t bother me at all because it's so barely there.

I get so lost in my work that I get out of the zone and don’t even notice it. Within minutes I didn’t even notice. So while it's not a smooth-rolling glide like the Perixx PERIMICE-520 Wired USB Ergonomic Programmable Trackball Mouse, it's not really a bad IMHO. Rarely notice it after a while of using the mouse. Also, there’s a helpful middle button at the top of the mouse that lets you toggle through all the open windows and that’s pretty great.
