I was thinking about the 5 stars I’ve given to NESCO VS 12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer product. 5 stars mean everything should be perfect and really is so far. I received this product today, I’m surprised. I’m really happy with this product. I wish I could have the vacuum hose in the package. Overall value, quality are very good. double seal and suction power are amazing. Update 1/28/2020; recommended this sealer is amazing.

Optional double seal, suction power, high-quality material, built-in roll storage/cutter, continuous sealing, tested, perfectly done! I have used 2 other brands of vacuum sealers including more expensive models. The footprint is small. It has better sealing options than those. Forget Foodsaver. Had this for a few days now and It is a lot better than the foodsaver product that is half again as much.

So forget the food saver as I said. This is a great sealer for about 100 100, I tried to send the less expensive units back only because the sealed areas failed with slow vacuum seal leaks. Nesco is a bit slow but I can see why after working with less expensive sealers, I believe the NESCO VS 12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer allows more time and temperature than a long sealing time to vacuum and fix the bag to stop.

For a great seal. Coming from manufacturing sealing cosmetics and apparel I am used to looking for defective seals, the Nesco seems to produce a flawless seal over and over. Looking at my pic you can see I sealed many items one after another and I didn’t have to wait or go slow. The Nesco powered through with no flaws in the seal.

Nesco has 5 seal options including the double seal option for moist applications which I have used. I love the internal cutter, the area for a small 11” roll to sit in, the see-through window to see the roll, and the single hand clamp that works great. The build quality appears to be very high quality to last. Again look at the seal area in my pics that is the most important thing to consider when purchasing a sealer.

I’ve used this on two occasions and went through a full roll of bags, so probably 20 sealed packages total. I’m very happy I went with the Nesco model. Others on display at a local store felt like they were made of cheap plastic. NESCO VS 12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer one is well built with a very smooth locking mechanism and heavy enough that it doesn’t slide around on the counter.

I like the auto and manual seal options. Manual seal one end of the bag, then fill it and flip it around and do the auto vacuum and seal...voila, thin-sliced steak in single-serve portions ready when I want a bowl of pho. Make sure you don’t overfill the bags, you want to make sure the end of the bag stays together and flat with no wrinkles when you insert it.

You can press a button for a single seal or a double seal line, that’s pretty cool. If you put something of an awkward dimension (like, I don’t know, a big turkey leg or something) just make sure to leave an extra inch or two so you have room to make sure the bag is flat. These people that have trouble with these sealers must be really sloppy and get food and juices all over the inside of the bag.
