Janome memory craft 500e machine is well made and has features and hoop sizes equal to much pricier machines. Because it is a dedicated embroidery machine it excels at embroidery. Like any machine, it has its own quirks but so do the pricier machines. The quirks are easy to live with and if it is more reliable than our previous pricier machine, it will be a win-win situation! Very easy to use.

Youtube has lots of videos to help you if you get stuck Stitches very well and has a large window to use when combining patterns. Comes with a video CD to show up close all the features. The manual is excellent. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a stand-alone embroidery machine. Very easy to use and has amazing embroidery.

Nothing negative to say…LOVE Janome Memory Craft 500E Embroidery Machine!!! I bought my Janome 500e from a dealer, i"ve had my machine for over 2 ½ years with no problems other than user error. Love the big hoops, even though they are an odd size. It comes with an Embroidery Editor that’s for a Windows computer which I didn’t have. But I upgraded from another embroidery machine and already had a program to use. The machine is very user-friendly and I would definitely buy this machine again.

I’ve had this machine for 3 years and I still love it. I had no one to teach me how to use my machine…just youtube videos and the manual. It has been easy to use and learn. I made a small quilt for my Mother. It has been a great purchase! This is truly a wonderful and friendly machine. I named mine Doozy because she is that. so easy to use, and simple.

But, it really helps to just watch the video, it only lasts a couple of minutes, and sit and read the book. Saves you a whole lot of time. I also got the MBX V5 software. It has been a love-hate relationship. But, any new software is. It has now become much easier. It has so much, I still don't know what I can do. But I am doing a whole lot. The best thing you can do for yourself in regard to the software is download and print out the pdf manual.

It helps so very much. I go thru the different sections, and always find new things I didn't know I had. But this machine is the best. Not cheap, and I don't have a lot of money to spend, but I have never been sorry I bought this machine. It truly does beautiful work, and so very little is ruined because of a thread break, or bobbin issue, of which there are not many...

You can just go back to where the thread broke, and go from there. No more waste. whooo hoooo. So easy to use and learn. Buy it, I don't think you will be sorry you did. I was up and sewing within 2 hours of bringing it home, and that's because I read the book first. I'm a nerd, can't help it. Janome Memory Craft 500E Embroidery Machine is amazing. It has tackled everything and that I threw at it.

We have had this machine for over two years without complaints. Janome memory craft 500e machine feels well-built, reliable, and easy to learn and operate. As with any computerized machine (laser cutters, CNCs, vinyl cutters, 3D printers, plasma cutters, etc) if you get serious about it you need to invest in software to create or edit designs on your computer.

There was an issue with the motherboard about 4 months after I got my machine but it was replaced and running wonderfully. I have seriously thought about getting a second 500e but have decided to go for one of the multi-needle embroidery machines. Thank you Janome for making such wonderful machines I am a loyal Janome embroider and quilter.
